Collaborator
Educators dedicate time to collaborate with both colleagues and students to improve practice, discover and share resources and ideas, and solve problems.
The image featured below is for a Google Docs file that shows evidence of the Remind class I have set-up to electronically communicate with students. This is an example of demonstrating cultural competency when communicating with students and colleagues. Click the image or underlined text to access the document.
Pictured below is the link to a Evernote note that explains the NIMS Credentialing process and gives students access to the drawings and study guides for each certification. This shows my use of technology to virtually engage with students in order to increase their knowledge of real world situational learning processes. The image below is a Poll Everywhere that was created to poll individuals and help plan part of our Program of work for our Career Technical Student Organizations on campus and learning communities events. This is an example of setting aside time to collaborate with my colleagues to develop authentic learning experiences using technology. Click the image or underlined text to access the document.
Below is a video that I create every year to highlight the students in my class. This video is a great example of collaboration between me and the students to produce this video and gives students the opportunity to generate ideas on how they think it should look, This video is also posted on our Program webpage.
Resources:
- Evernote- This is a great site for creating notes for yourself and/or students and is helpful for creating ideas, or developing projects.
- Poll Everywhere- If you need to know what people think about things take a poll. This is a great way to create polls and email them to your intended audience and get instant feedback.
- Remind- This communication software can be downloaded as an app or on your desktop and is great for communicating with your class or any group you want to stay in contact with.
- YouTube- You can create your own channel that you upload videos for lessons, recruiting or whatever you choose and anyone can have access to view.
